The Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is a scheme designed to improve knowledge and skills of LGV and PCV drivers. By law, all new drivers must have driver CPC training before driving professionally. Thereafter, 35 hours of periodic training must be carried out every five years. Existing bus and coach drivers must complete 35 hours of periodic training before September 2013 and lorry drivers must complete their driver CPC periodic training before September 2014.

Training Overview:
Anyone who drives professionally throughout the UK and the rest of Europe should attend the LGV (Larger Goods Vehicles) or the PCV (People Carrying Vehicle) Periodic Training course.

Module Details, Delivered in Theory Sessions:
The LGV and PCV Periodic training consists of 15 modules, each seven hours long and all theory based. Drivers must complete 35 hours of training over five years (five modules). As the driver, you choose the modules which best suit you and the ones you will benefit most from. We have listed below the most popular modules all running at Training Plus.

There is no assessment involved when attending LGV modules as this is an attendance course. All candidates will receive a certificate on completion.
