Emergency First Aid at Work

This course is designed for anyone who requires an emergency first aid at work (EFAW) certificate to comply with HSE requirements. This is an HSE approved and certified course.

Course Objective:
The emergency first aid at work course, held at our Glasgow training facility is designed to equip candidates with the essential knowledge, confidence and skills to render first aid in emergencies.

Course Content:
- The role of the first aider
- Communicating with a casualty
- Contents of first aid kits and how to avoid cross infection
- Recordings of incidents and accidents
- Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.
- Administer first aid to a casualty who:
is unconscious
requires cardio pulmonary resuscitation CPR
is choking
is wounded or bleeding
is in shock
has minor conditions to include minor cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters.

Course Method:
Instruction in both theory and practical sessions.

Certification:
Emergency first aid at work EFAW certificate, valid for 3 years.

Course Duration:
One day

Trainer to Delegate Ratio:
One trainer to twelve delegates

Qualifications and Experience:
Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline and must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
